| BLD Phoenix Solo Parents Encounter |
Peace!
With the rising rate of single parenthood in our society, we have
formed a group of solo parents composed of parents left solo due to:
• Death of a spouse
• Separation from spouse
• Physical incapacity of a spouse
• Overseas employment; and
• Single parents with natural and adopted children.
By the grace of God through His community, we have faithfully
accepted our Lord’s will for us and have found ourselves a place in
society and in our Lord’s community. With a fresh outlook in life
and of ourselves we would like to share with you and learn from you
how we can respond productively to our Lord’s calling as single
parents.
It is in this light that we are inviting you for a SOLO PARENTS
ENCOUNTER WEEKEND on JANUARY 30-FEBRUARY 1, 2009
(Friday to Sunday) at the DESERT OUTDOOR CENTER It will be
ministered by a pastoral team from Newark,New Jersey with Fr. Pete
Literal as the spiritual director.
The SPE Weekend is a weekend of prayer, reflection and sharing as
we try to understand and discern how we can be better Christians in
the light of being single parents. It is a wonderful opportunity to
learn from the experiences of others as well as for us to share our
experiences so that others may learn from us as well.
